نــتأرجــح بــين زمــنين، يــمر الــعمر بــينهما، ونــحن نــحاول بــناء شــيء مــا يشــبه الــبيت... أراقــب أمــي وهــي تــقص خــصلات شــعر صــديــقاتــها الــلواتــي يــعرفــن أنــها لــم تــكن مــصففة شــعر فــي يــوم مــن الأيــام، لــكن هــنا، فــي المــنفى، لا يــثقن إلا بــبعضهن بعضاً. اســترق الــسمع إلــى أحاديثهن، عن الحب، الحزن، الفرح، الألم وكل القصص التي يروينها عن الحرب. معاً، صنعن أسرة صغيرة، منزلا معلقا ما بين الأ رض والوطن، فأجد نفسي في وسط الطريق، بين مكانين، لعلّ روحي تستطيع الشعور بالانتماء.
Sara Kontar (B. 1996) is a Syrian artist and photographer, based in France since 2016. She holds a Master's degree from L’École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD). She started practicing photography in 2017, and since then she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Paris. Her video work was showcased at Centre Pompidou in 2022, followed by an exhibition at Palais de Tokyo in 2023. Sara is the founder of (Al-Ayoun) a space for visual storytellers in Syria and the diaspora. Her art and photography is her way to express the experiences of exile, focusing on human emotions, identity, body language, movements, thoughts, and testimonies. She uses various mediums of photography, including studio, experimental, art video, and documentary.
